DESIGN - MANAGE - CONSTRUCT

OUR BATHROOM DESIGN PROCESS

STEP 1: YOUR CONSULTATION

Once you’ve booked a consultation—whether online, in our showroom, by phone, or via email—one of our experienced designers will be in touch within 24 hours to arrange a convenient time to visit your home.

During the in-home consultation, we take the time to understand how you and your family use the space. We ask detailed questions about your requirements, preferences, lifestyle, and design aspirations—everything from storage needs and lighting preferences to who uses the bathroom and how.

By the end of this meeting, we’ll have a clear picture of your ideal bathroom or ensuite, as well as your preferred style, finishes, and functional must-haves.

We’ll also take precise measurements of your space, assessing surrounding areas to explore every opportunity to make the most of your layout—often transforming small or outdated rooms into spaces that feel larger, lighter, and far more functional.

STEP 2: THE DESIGN PHASE

Back at our studio, we begin crafting a tailored design based on the insights gathered during your consultation. We review photos, notes, and your design brief to create a concept that reflects your taste, enhances your lifestyle, and maximises the potential of your space.

Once the design is ready, we invite you to our showroom to present the layout, material selections, and a detailed cost proposal.

STEP 3: APPROVAL & FINAL SELECTIONS

When you decide to move forward with Bathrooms & Kitchens SA, we schedule a final selection meeting at our showroom.

This is where the magic really happens. Together, we work through every element of your design—from flooring and wall tiles to cabinetry colours, benchtops, lighting, hardware, and feature finishes. It’s a structured, guided process where we help you personalise each choice while ensuring it complements your home’s character.

By the end of this session, you’ll be able to visualise your complete bathroom—what we call "painting the canvas."

STEP 4: MANUFACTURING & PROJECT PREP

With all selections finalised, we proceed to the manufacturing and ordering stage. Your project is handed over to our production team, who prepare detailed final plans, including electrical, plumbing, and joinery specifications.

A dedicated project manager walks through the plans with our trusted trades to ensure every detail is understood before work begins. Long lead-time items such as custom vanities, stone benchtops, and windows are ordered immediately to keep your timeline on track.

We then confirm your start date—and your bathroom transformation begins.

READY TO BEGIN?

Book your free in-home bathroom or ensuite design consultation today and let us help you bring your vision to life.

BATHROOM RENOVATION ADVICE

Start With Preparation

Before your consultation, we recommend setting up a renovation folder on your computer to help organise your ideas and inspirations. Here's what to include:

Photos of What You Like

Collect images of bathrooms or elements you’re drawn to—tiles, vanities, lighting, layouts, colours—anything that resonates. Make notes under each image explaining exactly what you like about it. This helps us understand your personal style and preferences.

Photos of What You Don’t Like

This is just as important. Sharing what doesn’t appeal to you gives us a clearer picture of your taste and helps us avoid design directions that don’t align with your vision. It’s all about getting inside your design mindset.

Create a Wishlist

A detailed wishlist ensures nothing gets missed. Think about:

  • Additional storage needs

  • Power point locations

  • Shower niches

  • Ventilation solutions

  • Heated towel rails

  • Lighting preferences

No detail is too small—jot it all down. The more you tell us, the more tailored your final bathroom design will be.

Hold Off on Product Shopping

We know it's tempting to start browsing bathroom products straight away—but it can actually lead to confusion. With so many options, sizes, and styles available, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Instead, let us first design your space based on your lifestyle and needs. Once the layout is finalised, product selection becomes much easier. We’ll guide you to options that fit—not just physically, but also functionally and aesthetically.

Let Us Handle the Design

Don’t stress about figuring out the perfect layout—we’ve got that covered. The questions we ask during your consultation are designed to uncover exactly how your bathroom needs to function for you and your family.

Our experienced team knows the tricks of the trade and the clever design solutions that make a bathroom truly work—efficiently, beautifully, and effortlessly.

In Summary

  • Organise inspiration and define your style

  • Make a clear wishlist

  • Wait until your layout is final before selecting products

  • Trust our team to design a bathroom that ticks all the boxes

Relax and enjoy the process—we’re here to make your dream bathroom a reality.
